Paddle past Easton, PA with it’s beautiful bridges across the Delaware and the confluence with the Lehigh river.  Above and below Easton the river is lined by wooded bluffs and high rock cliffs including a 400 foot deep water gap.  This section of the river has class 1 rapids, simple well-spaced riffles and smooth water. Basic river reading and boat control skills paddling class 1 rapids are needed.  Expect to get some water in your cockpit going through the rapids without a skirt.  Anticipated trip time for this 12-mile paddle is approximately 5 hours.  We will take breaks and eat lunch along the way.  The Delaware river is approximately 75 minutes from the Philadelphia Canoe Club.

Put in Frost Hollow Overlook ,  Route 611, Easton, PA, Coordinates 40.724557695819044, -75.18769104826535.  There are no bathroom facilities.

Take Out at Riegelsville NJ Boat Ramp, 15 Old River Rd, Milford, NJ, Coordinates 40.59362159707582, -75.18463652588491.  There is a porta potty at this location.

Car shuttle details will be made via email the day before the trip.  If possible we will meet at the take out, consolidate boats onto cars, leave some cars and drive to the put in. This will save everyone about an hour of driving in the morning.
