The Lehigh River from White Haven to Rockport is Class II+ at normal water levels. This 8.7-mile section offers a mix of moderate rapids and some more challenging features. 

Paddlers should have white water skills including good boat control and ability to perform a wet exit, eddy turns, peel outs and ferries. 

We will meet at 9:30 am at Lehigh Gorge State Park - White Haven South Access. The entrance is on Route 940 (Church Street) in White Haven (link here). Coordinates:  41.052786, -75.775714. It takes about 90 minutes to get there from PCC with no stops. We will run shuttle from there. 

To Go On This Trip: Click "REGISTER" and complete the Registration Information. Participants must either 1) be a member of the American Canoe Association (ACA) and complete an online waiver, or 2) bring $10 cash to the trip and sign a non-member waiver.  Uncertain if you have a waiver?  Log into the ACA Website, click “My Profile” and “Date Annual Waiver Expires”.  If it is expired or has never been done click here to complete a waiver.  Non-members are encouraged to join and complete the waiver before the trip.  The $40 membership provides insurance for club events for the next year. 

Requirements: 

  • Transportation of your boat and gear to the put-in.
  • Wear a PFD, helmet, and whistle.
  • Wear quick drying clothes suitable for getting wet.  Bring additional layers in a dry bag in your boat.
  • Protect your toes, wear water or close-toed shoes.

Suggestions (for your comfort):

  • Bring water to drink and lunch.
  • Bring a dry bag or waterproof container for your personal belongings/extra clothes.
    Have a secure place to carry your car keys.
  • Have a set of dry clothes in your car to change for the ride home.
