Spring rains have raised water levels for a trip on this less frequently paddled section of the Upper Schuylkill.  Much of this run is a remote, woodsy passage past mountain ridges.  The river moves along nicely with many ripples, class 1 and 1 plus rapids and a class 2 rapid.  Helmets are recommended for this trip.  Club helmets will be available for use if you do not own a helmet. There is one dam to portage.  We will take breaks and eat lunch along the way.  The anticipated time on the water for this 10.8 mile paddle is 5 hours.  The Schuylkill River is approximately 105 minutes from the Philadelphia Canoe Club.

Meet at Auburn Landing Route 895 (Market Street)  Auburn, PA.  Coordinates: 40.6022163633856, -76.08847689227093.  We will drop off the boats and leave a participant there to look over them while we shuttle our cars to Hamburg.

Meet at Hamburg Community Park, Park Road and Locke Alley, Hamburg, PA.  Coordinates: 40.55941967790522, -75.98786568243004.  Park in the pull in spaces at the end of Park Road after Locke Alley.  At the end of the trip, we will use a vehicle left at Hamburg to take drivers back to Auburn to get their vehicles and get everybody and their boats back together.

To Go On This Trip: Click "REGISTER" and complete the Registration Information.
