No experience necessary. This course will introduce you to equipment, safety and boat handling. Class will be conducted on a lake Saturday and a gentle river on Sunday. You may take just the first day but you can not skip the first day and attend the second day only.
Instruction is offered solo (1 person in a canoe) or tandem (2 people in a canoe). The class will begin Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. at the Philadelphia Canoe Club, 4900 Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia. After a short orientation and equipment fitting we will load up and travel to a lake (to be determined) in the NJ Pine Barrens (about 1 hour drive from Philadelphia). Our instructors will carry the boats and equipment but will not provide rides.
