Who wants to sprint?

Hey everyone! I've just discovered the Philly Canoe Club online and saw that racing and sprinting are a part of it. What is the k1 sprint scene like in Philadelphia? I've got an Epic v12 surfski that I use for longer distance racing, but would like to get more involved in sprinting if that's something you all do down in Philly.

What is considered a sprint? the aluminum canoe sprints run in conjunction with the 70-mile General Clinton race are 12 miles.
A couple of surfskis raced in the 6.2 mile Woodbury Creek race yesterday. There's a short race coming up next weekend on the Cooper river, I think.

I'm looking at more k1 and surfski racing. I was able to get in touch with Glen and it sounds like he's got some pretty sweet races organized. looking forward to participating in them for sure!
