Hi,

Brand new to Kayaking, just bought a Wilderness Pungo 120.  Not sure what is required (if anything).  I plan on taking to lakes and probably Delaware and Schuylkill.

I assume I need to register the kayak if taking to State Park.  Is there an advantage of Registration over Use Permit?

Thanks,

Bob

use permit

I have a use permit. The PA use permit is complicated enough for small canoes and kayaks. It is harder than you might think to actually register a small hand-powered boat. New Jersey requires all boats to be titled - I call mine "Sir" - but not all sales of canoes and kayaks include a title. Also, "under 16 feet" and "no horsepower" are not included on the forms. The use permit lets you use the boat ramps without hassle, and that's all you really need.
