Lehigh dump day 10/18

Tuesday 10/18 is the scheduled day to bring the dam down to a normal pool. From what I'm hearing, it's going to be a rather large amount with boaters already planing to run the full 23 miles due to the swiftness of the water. Any interest?

  • Lehigh Basin:
    • F.E. Walter Dam: 1000-1200 cfs Mon 3500, Tue 2500, Wed 2000 Thur 1000, Fri 750 cfs.
    • Beltzville Lake: 300 cfs

What is the projected volume of subject release? Wouldn't it be nice of the Corps to schedule releases at 1000 cfs over October weekends rather than wasting water by releasing large amounts unannounced during weekdays. What is it with those people?
